As I type this I am clenching my mouth shut because I have a severe toothache. It's a back lower molar that just needs to come out, and this is the worst it's been. It's flared up a couple of times, but not too bad and not for too long. I'm all too familiar with the way it feels tonight. It will probably give me trouble for a few days at least. I won't be able to get into my dentist until well after Christmas, so I'm hoping Advil or Aleve will do the trick.
Las night I had a gall bladder attack. Not the worst one I've had, but not the mildest either. It woke me up and kept me up, but it passed thankfully.
Though the thermostat in the house reads 73 it is so cold in my room, and now my throat is once again raw and it hurts to swallow. Just days after I had thought myself over that nasty cold too.
But I'm surviving. I managed to get some work done last night and into this morning and early afternoon. And I've been looking into some other things as well.
I won't be starting those things I mentioned until next week because they require a bit of effort and preparation on my part, and I'm just not up to it at the moment.
My uncle didn't make it over to help with the lights again today, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. It's supposed to be warmer tomorrow, but cloudy, so it may not make a difference. But as I mentioned before, after that it's a few days of rain, then it will be only one week until Christmas, and there won't be much point in putting up lights then.
Tonight is the Ultimate Fighter finale. I've watched Ultimate Fighter since season one and really got into MMA/UFC at that point. I'm pulling for a couple of favorites, but we'll see what happens. I'm going to tape it as I don't feel like watching it with the pain. I tend to tense up when watching it anticipating moves and such, and that just wouldn't be good when I'm trying to relax to get rid of this toothache.
I may be writing a lot here pretty soon. Not on this blog, and not scripts or novels, but articles. I'll fill you in when the time comes. I will be writing two comic scripts pretty intensely before the end of the year though, and next year I am going forward with the novel. Jason, we'll definitely have to keep each other motivated on our writing efforts in 2009.
Speaking of Jason, who lives in Australia, I was watching Transformers earlier tonight and the Aussie chick hacker's accent really appealed to me for some reason. Could be because she's very attractive as well, I don't know. I'm just sayin'.
I've now been up for 22 hours straight. I tried to sleep this morning, and again a couple of hours ago, both times to no avail. My eyes are so heavy it's hard to even focus on the screen, but right now laying down makes my tooth hurt worse, so up I am.
And on that note, I guess I better figure out some way to relax and get this to ease down.

The Change is... Stalled
Seems as though the Comic Related relaunch is taking just a wee bit longer than anticipated as they've hit a few stumbles here and there. But they are looking to get it up, at least in part, by midnight. It will be an ongoing relaunch, but it should still begin to go live today technically. And that's East Coast time, so all you West-Coasters should see it up by 9!
I've been glued to the Twitter feed anticipating the launch. Change is always exciting, and this one's a big one.
Speaking of change, I wonder if Brock Lesnar will be able to wrest the UFC Heavyweight title from The Natural, Randy Couture tonight? It's only Brock's, what, fourth professional MMA fight?! But Brock is a monster and he dominated all three of his previous bouts even though he got caught in his first UFC fight by his inexperience and excitement. He should have won that fight too. But Randy's a veteran of the Octagon and it should be a great fight. Wish I was watching it.
And moving on with the theme of change, I've added a Twitter feed to the sidebar. I've only got it set to show my latest update so as not to be too intrusive. And it blends in with the rest of the sidebar content, so hopefully it's not too much for you all.
I'm really going to change things up as I mentioned on the blog as soon as I have some free time to do so. I'm not really digging the way it's laid out, and there are a few things I want to get rid of.
Change is in the air, and I like it!

A Big Thank You!
Thanks to all you faithful readers out there who have stuck with me through thick and thin! The past few weeks the number of hits I've gotten on this blog have been steadily climbing regardless of the lack of consistent posts on my part. So I just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for continuing to read me. :)
Not a whole lot going on at the moment save still working my butt off. Things are going steady and well with all current lettering projects.
Scott and I are gearing up for Mid-Ohio, which is now less than a month away. Hope to see you there! We'll have a b&w version of Wannabez #1 for sale! We'll also have copies of MVA #5, which has Wannabez #0 in it on hand.
Oh, and Haven Distributors will be carrying Wannabez! So retailers, come October you will be able to order it from them!
Thanks to some friends who recently helped me out.
New TV season starts soon. Hopefully something good will finally be on TV. Not that I don't have plenty enough to keep me busy aside from watching TV, I just love sitting back and watching some good TV. Nice escapism and relaxation and all that.
Speaking of TV, I don't know how familiar any of you are with the UFC (possibly the only real sport I really like - basketball and boxing are okay too, but I don't watch them that often), but I read that Chuck Liddell got KNOCKED OUT! by Rashad Evans last night. I like Evans and I'm not a fan of Liddell, so that was really nice to hear. :) But I'm REALLY looking forward to the upcoming Randy Couture/Brock Lesnar fight. I'd love to see that one.
One book I lettered a while back, Lightning Squirrel #1, just went on sale. You can find it at www.indyplanet.com.
And I guess that's it for now. Thanks again for reading, I'll try to update again real soon.

UFC
Typically I'm not a sports fan. I can watch them on occasion, but I was never really into them. I played basketball for about half a season in grade school, but that's it. And I do enjoy going to the UK games, football and basketball, when I can. It's exciting being there live. I was never real heavy into anything like boxing either, though I still watched it occasionally.
See, I was always the "fake sport" guy. I love wrestling, and I just can't stop that. But as far as competitive sports go, I have to say that over the past couple of years I have really been taken with the UFC.
For those who don't know, the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the premiere MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) organization. Over the past few years this sport has really skyrocketed, thanks in no small part to the reality show Ultimate Fighter where the winner gets a UFC contract.
Now, I've always been a fan of martial arts, but this is a bit different. It combines any kind of fighting technique you can think of and puts these guys in a cage to battle it out. But it's not totally barbaric either. These fighters respect each other, and it is a highly competitive sport. Sure, they beat the crap out of each other, and undoubtedly shorten the span of their physical prowess by facing many injuries. But they love it, and it's exciting to watch.
I don't know why it appeals to me so much unless it's the aspect of it kind of being what pro wrestling might be if it wasn't staged. Whatever the case may be, I absolutely love the sport and watch it whenever I can. I'd love to go to a live event sometime.
And speaking of pro wrestling, Brock Lesnar of WWE fame from a few years back has signed on with the UFC. He was one of the fastest rising superstars in pro wrestling, but he was also a top NCAA amatuer wrestler prior to that. He's a big boy at around 6'3"-6'4" and over 260lbs. It will be really exciting to watch him compete for the first time, whenever that may be.
